Burning Man 2008
Off to Burning Man in 6 days. 2nd time out and am really looking forward to it. Our crew has really stepped up our game this year.We loaded our 1 40' container and is en-route to Reno as we speak. Tonight/Tomorrow load 30' stakebody truck/trailer leaving for Reno 12:00 noon Friday.
Weekend relaxing with Denise, doing a little AC vacation
Monday 9-5 work
Tuesday
9-12noon work
5:15 fight to Reno
10:00pm Arrive at reno
Secure Hotel room and meet up with rest of friends for logistics
Logistics until Wednesday 10:00am
Wednesday
10:00 am rent box trucks fuel up, and head out to the Playa.
4:00pm meet up with our 40' shipping containers on the playa. Unload and layout camp
Thursday,
Set up 25' mash tent,
hook up AC to mash tent and yurts,
Place 50kw Generator and construct the powergrid
Build 40' performance stage
Erect Scaffolding
Erect 25' Domes
Set up sound / dj equip
Run propane lines for fire sculptures
Set up camp showers
Set up evaporation towers
Weld rigging to 2nd container
Friday
Finish layout and surveying of camp space
2:00pm ish, drive back to Reno and do food/propane/fuel/water refill for rest of the day
Saturday
Meet up with mid crew and finish food/fuel/propane logistics
Saturday night drive back to the playa.
Sunday
Place food in 20' reefer freezer container
Place 55 gallon water drums
Set up grills and kitchen
Place propane tanks
Set up fire sculptures
Sunday Night... Burning Man officially begins at 12:00 Midnight!!!
Jump ahead a week
Monday
2:00am leave playa via hitch hiking to Reno
2:15pm board plane back to philly
12:00 midnight arrive at philly
8:00 am arrive at work
Unfortunately unlike last year, I cant take more than 2 weeks off so I will be missing out on the breakdown of camp. =/ Oh well, 2 weeks is 2 weeks =)
